Carrie’s experience has been primarily in gold and copper and began in 2000 with Anglogold Ashanti at Sadiola Gold Mine. Here she gained experience in all aspects of resource estimation, from sampling protocols, database management, QAQC and estimation using linear and non-linear methods. She was involved in test work including optimising drill spacing, sample nomogram analyses, and head grade sampling strategies. She also provided software support to grade control geologists, for both Datamine and Blockbuster and training for local geologists. Based at Geita Gold Mine, Tanzania, she provided technical services as a resource estimation geologist to Anglogold Ashanti head office for their African open pit operations and the evaluation department at Geita Gold Mine. As Senior Resource Geologist at Choco 10 in Venezuela, she was responsible for the resource estimates and supervisory to database management and QAQC personnel and technical assistance to production geologists.  At Bloy she was a Consultant to both junior and large companies from exploration through to production and assisted in software development, primarily in geostatistics.

After starting out as a geotechnician in 1989, Chris has been engaged as a geologist, mine geologist, senior mine geologist and senior resource geologist – operational experience that gives him a rare understanding of how to add value throughout the mining value chain.

Having learned from some of the best in the business, Chris also draws on a wealth of technical expertise, which he has applied in open-cut and underground scenarios in gold, copper, uranium, nickel, lead-zinc, talc, iron-ore and coal mines the world over. Since graduating in 2006, Ignacio (Nacho) worked in exploration, geological modelling, resource/reserves evaluation and operations for a major mining company across Latin America and Asia Pacific. His main field experience comes from working in the Amazon, New Guinea and Central Australia. His primary focus was copper and gold, lead and zinc, iron ore and lateritic deposits. Arriving in the Amazon in 2008 he assisted in the delineation of several deposits that are now in production. Later in Papua New Guinea he worked in several green field and feasibility projects, stepping into the position of Lead Geologist for that company. Later he worked in operation and resource/reserve evaluation in the Mount Isa inlier. He started working for Leapfrog in 2013, having been a user since 2010. Ignacio is now ARANZ Geo’s Regional Director for Latin America, helping to grow that market and giving valuable feedback for the development of new features and software.

On graduating in 1984, Mike began his career in the petroleum industry, before switching to mining, exploration and resource geology, tackling a range of roles across Australia.

Having worked for large and small mining companies, his technical and managerial experience encompasses an array of commodities and everything from geological mapping, resource modelling and grade control program design, to drill rig supervision and the management of geology teams in open-cut and underground environments. Mike's key areas of specialisation are geological data gathering and interpretation, audits, resource estimates and conditional simulations to quantify risk – he is passionate about geological resource estimates that are practical, robust and auditable.

Over a career of more than 30 years, Mike has become a well-respected thought leader in the geology and mineral resources sector and prides himself on building unique and practical geoscience solutions for clients. Prior to joining QG, he spent 1 year at AMEC as Principal Technical Specialist, 2 years with Tetra Tech as Chief Geologist, 13 years with AngloGold Ashanti after a period of 19 years with Anglo American Corporation. Mike was Chairperson of the SAMREC Committee in 2010/11 and served on the SAMREC Committee from 1996 to 2011. Consequently he is well versed in the details of mineral resource and reserve terminology and international reporting and regulatory codes.  Mike has reviewed numerous mineral resource models and managed technical teams across the Americas, Africa, Europe and Asia.

Michael, originally a structural geologist with the Council for Geoscience (Geological Survey), has extensive experience in the exploration, mining and consultancy industry. Joining Bloy in 2011 enabled honing of his complimentary expertise in evaluation, grade control and geostatistics, within the latter parts of the Exploration & Mining cycle. His experience spans a spectrum of commodities including Au, Cu, Ni, U and PGEs across eastern, western, southern and central Africa, as well as Australia. Rui Goncalves

Rui’s career began with Anglo American Platinum where he studied under their training scheme whilst gaining experience in platinum mining. After graduating he worked as a consultant on a Kenyan Niobium and REE project, eventually becoming the on-site geologist. He joined Bloy in 2012, gaining experience in evaluation, grade control and geostatistics. In 2014 he assisted with the initial set up and conversion of the Surpac version of Blockbuster. Since 2015 he has modelled different types of deposits using Leapfrog and integrated many of these with Blockbuster grade control.

He has honed his leadership skills and experience working with mining engineers, (short and long term plan), blast engineers and metallurgists. He is an experienced coach and mentor with strong project and cost management skills. On joining Bloy in 2015 he has added value to mine sites such as Iduapriem, Morila, Sadiola, Siguiri, Tabakoto and Ity.
