Senior Leaders

Shaun Maloney Managing Director

Shaun Maloney.

Shaun has been ARANZ Geo’s Chief Executive Officer since 2011 and was formerly Global Sales Channel Manager. Christchurch born New Zealander Shaun is from an international banking background and has worked in the UK providing strategic direction to NZ technology companies. In 2014 he was awarded a Prime Minister’s Business Scholarship to study at Harvard and London Business Schools.

Graham Grant Chief Operating Officer

Graham Grant.

Graham is responsible for new business opportunities, technology partnerships, and for business intelligence. He is also Director of Leapfrog UK with regional responsibility for Europe, CIS, Middle East and Africa. Graham was formerly with Carter Holt Harvey and spent 11 years in senior management roles for the National Australia Bank both in Australia and the UK. He holds a BSc (Hons) from Canterbury University and an MBA from Leeds University.

Adam Pidlisecky Chief Research Officer

Adam Pidlisecky.

Adam’s research is aimed at improving decision making in geoscience applications through the use of geophysical data. He has focused on developing the concept of “decision aware” geophysics, where we acquire, interpret, and present geophysical data with a focus on the key decision variables of relevance to end users (e.g. reservoir managers). He has a diverse range of experience, from equipment development, numerical modeling, high-performance computing, to instrumentation and monitoring of large scale field sites.

Nick Fogarty GM Mining and Minerals

Nick Fogarty.

Nick is the General Manager for the Mining and Mineral business unit at ARANZ Geo Limited. He has more than 10 years’ experience advising on and implementing international sales and marketing initiatives. Experienced in leading trade and export development he has excellent relationship building skills, particularly in cross cultural environments. Enthusiastic and creative, Nick has a passion to determine company direction and implement growth through business and technology led innovation.

Daniel Wallace GM Civil & Environmental

Daniel Wallace.

Daniel is the General Manager for the Civil and Environmental business unit at ARANZ Geo Limited. He has more than 20 years’ experience with Trimble, mainly based in the US. He is experienced in leading teams, large and small, including spearheading a joint venture between Trimble and Caterpillar. Daniel has extensive experience in general management, strategy, product marketing, product development, and sales. His passion is leading teams to develop successful businesses that solve real problems for customers. He has a Bachelor of Surveying and a Bachelor of Science from Otago University and an MBA from University of Colorado.

Richard Ertel Chief Technology Officer

Richard Ertel.

Richard joined ARANZ Geo in 2013 with extensive knowledge and experience in software development, and customer and supplier relationship management in New Zealand and the UK. Formally the UK Technical Manager for TALKINGtech UK Ltd – a company he worked with for over 10 years. Richard has a passion for delivering innovative industry leading solutions.

Shaun joined the Board of Directors of ARANZ Geo in 2015. He has been ARANZ Geo’s Chief Executive Officer since 2011 and was formerly Global Sales Channel Manager.

Rick Fright Director, Co-founder

Rick Fright.

Rick co-founded ARANZ in 1995 and collaborated on the early work in development of the Fast RBF™ engine. He has a BE (Electrical) and a PhD from University of Canterbury, New Zealand. From 1989 to 1991 he specialised in 3D medical imaging and computer systems at University College London.

Nigel Bingham Director

Nigel Bingham.

Nigel is a Managing Partner of Pencarrow Private Equity. He has more than 25 years' experience in private equity, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. Nigel has a BSc with First Class Honours in Statistics, a MSc with Distinction in Mathematics and a Diploma of Business Studies in Finance. He is a council member of the New Zealand Private Equity and Venture Capital Association. He is also a board member for MMC.

Scott Houston Director

Scott Houston.

Scott founded high performance cloud computer company GreenButton in 2006, the global leader in PaaS (Platform as a Service) enabling the secure running of software applications in the cloud with unlimited computing power. GreenButton was recently acquired by Microsoft Corporation. Scott also helped establish the super computer platform for Weta Studio’s production of Lord of the Rings. He joined the ARANZ Geo board in 2015.

Jonathan Goldstone Director

Jonathan Goldstone.

Jonathan is a Partner of Pencarrow Private Equity. Previously with Morgan Stanley, he advised on the structuring and execution of mergers, acquisitions and capital market transactions. He commenced his career with UBS’s investment banking division, working in both Auckland and New York. Jonathan holds Bachelor and Master of Commerce (First Class Honours) degrees from the University of Auckland. He is also a board member for Icebreaker and Umbrellar.
